Nithi Subhongsang or “Nutty” began his tourism career in September 1999 as boat manager on rice barge cruises between Bangkok and Ayutthaya. It was during this time that Nutty’s Interest in community-based tourism started to develop, and the belief that tourism can, and should, bring benefit to society. After this, a real grounding in tourism was gained while working as a tour guide for a large international tour operator. Then in 2003 Nutty established his first company, Ayutthaya Boat & Travel, which was later renamed ABT Journeys. The focus of the company was very much on responsible tourism and bringing benefit to all stakeholders. In 2014 Nutty’s Adventures was established to promote and operate Community-Based Tourism (CBT) and Responsible Tourism (RT) in Thailand and our neighboring countries.
In 2016, Nutty’s Adventures started to develop and promote Accessible Tourism in Thailand and in 2018 received from England its first group of 12 blind travellers who spent 11 days touring Thailand, north and south. In 2019 the company started organising tours for wheelchair travellers.
